School Principal
Job Summary:The Cafeteria Director will oversee the operation of the school cafeteria to ensure nutritious, high-quality meals are provided efficiently and safely. This role involves managing staff or volunteers, overseeing food ordering and preparation, maintaining compliance with state health standards, and staying within budgetary guidelines. The director will also collaborate with the administration to support student health initiatives and special events.
Key Responsibilities:-
Cafeteria Operations:
- Supervise the preparation, cooking, and service of meals.
- Ensure food is prepared on time and meets safety and quality standards.
- Manage cafeteria staff, volunteers, or student helpers, delegating tasks as needed.

Food Inventory & Ordering:
- Monitor inventory and order food and supplies to avoid shortages or waste.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate deliveries.
- Track food costs and ensure purchases stay within the allocated budget.

Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure the cafeteria complies with local, state, and federal health regulations.
- Keep accurate records, including food temperatures, sanitation logs, and safety inspections.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafeteria and equipment.

Menu Planning & Dietary Needs:
- Develop nutritious menus that comply with school nutrition standards.
- Adjust menus to accommodate dietary restrictions and special needs (e.g., allergies).
- Work with administration to plan meals for special events or themed days.

Staff Management & Training:
- Train, supervise, and support cafeteria staff and volunteers.
- Schedule shifts to ensure smooth operations and adequate coverage.
- Address performance concerns and promote a positive working environment.

Budgeting and Reporting:
- Collaborate with school administration to manage and maintain the cafeteria budget.
- Track student participation rates, meal counts, and expenses.
- Provide reports on cafeteria operations and financial performance as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service management or a related role (preferred).
- Knowledge of food safety regulations (ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred).
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills for budgeting, ordering, and reporting.
Working Hours:
- The position is full-time or part-time, with limited summer hours, Monday through Friday.
- Flexible based on school needs.
- Occasional availability for school events or meetings outside regular hours.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and move within the cafeteria.
- Lift and carry supplies or equipment up to 30 pounds.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing tasks.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience.
