Position Summary:
Mishawaka Catholic School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Student Advocate to support students in their social-emotional growth. The Student Advocate will work closely with students, teachers, and families to foster a positive and supportive school environment that aligns with our mission to build disciples of Jesus Christ through faith formation, academic excellence, and service to others.
Key Responsibilities:

Support students in developing social-emotional skills through individual and small group interventions.

Assist students in problem-solving conflicts, emotional regulation, and peer relationships.

Work collaboratively with teachers to integrate SEL strategies into the classroom.

Provide guidance and resources to families to support students' social-emotional well-being.

Implement and facilitate school-wide SEL programs and initiatives.

Serve as a liaison between students and school staff to ensure students' emotional and social needs are met.

Promote a positive and Christ-centered school culture that aligns with Mishawaka Catholic School’s root beliefs.

Maintain confidentiality and accurate records of student progress and interventions.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.

Experience working with children in a school or counseling setting.

Knowledge of social-emotional learning frameworks and best practices.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
-
Ability to work collaboratively in a faith-based educational environment.

Commitment to the values and mission of Mishawaka Catholic School.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with restorative practices and positive behavior support strategies.

Familiarity with Catholic teachings and their application in student development.
