Holy Cross School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our diverse faith-filled learning community for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time position is responsible for physical education instruction to students in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about fostering a love for physical activity, promoting healthy habits, and contributing to the holistic development of each child within a Catholic school environment.
Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and developmental stages, ensuring active participation and skill development.

Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where all students feel comfortable participating and taking risks.

Build strong connections with students while also providing clear expectations, constructive feedback, and effective behavior management.

Collaborate effectively with fellow faculty and staff as part of a cohesive team dedicated to the academic, spiritual, social, and emotional growth of the whole child.

Manage a full and varied daily schedule, transitioning between different grade levels and adapting instruction accordingly.

Demonstrate flexibility in the use of the gymnasium and other physical activity spaces, adapting to school events and needs.

Integrate Catholic values and virtues into physical education lessons and foster an understanding of sportsmanship and respect.

Maintain accurate records of student participation, progress, and assessments.

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school-wide events.
Qualifications:

Prior experience teaching physical education to children across various age groups (PK-8th grade) preferred.

Fluency in both English and Spanish (bilingual) is highly preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field preferred

Valid state teaching certification in Physical Education (or eligibility for certification) preferred.

Demonstrated ability to connect with students, build rapport, and inspire participation.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a demanding and varied schedule.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience in coaching school-aged children in various sports is a significant asset.
