St. Rose of Lima Catholic School is looking for a Part-Time Physical Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a flexible position, requiring 1 to 2 days a week, with potential for additional roles within the school.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Models and teaches Catholic doctrine, values, and morals.
- Works collaboratively with administrators, faculty, students, and parents to foster a faith community within the school and parish.
- Prepares lesson plans and teaches physical education in assigned grade levels in accordance with state and diocesan guidelines.
- Promotes physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles in a faith-filled environment.
- Recognizes the variety of student learning styles and physical abilities and adapts activities to promote full participation and success.
- Uses various assessments to monitor and encourage student growth in physical fitness and motor skills.
- Plans and supervises age-appropriate physical education activities and games that are safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
- Supervises students both within the gymnasium and during outdoor activities, as well as during school-sponsored events in an official capacity.
- Consistently enforces the school’s discipline policies to maintain a positive and orderly environment in the gym and during physical activities.
- Communicates regularly and effectively with parents regarding student progress in physical education.
- Maintains accurate records and reports as required by school policy.
- Commits to ongoing faith formation and professional development.
- Must be able to implement school safety procedures, including emergency drills and injury protocols.
- Participates in diocesan and school improvement goals, including professional development.
- Fosters the spiritual and moral development of students through character-building and cooperative play.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- An Indiana teaching license in physical education, or demonstrated eligibility to receive a license.
- High-level thinking skills and the ability to motivate students.
- Currently qualified to speak and write coherently, fluently, and grammatically correct English.
- Currently physically qualified to supervise and participate in physical activity with students.
- Strong written, verbal presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, run, bend, lift, and participate in physical activities with students.
- Must be able to talk, hear, and demonstrate physical skills.
- May occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds or assist injured students.
