St. Rose of Lima Catholic School is looking for a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Intermediate Grades (Math, Science, and Religion) for the 2025–2026 school year. This position is to cover a maternity leave from late November through mid-January. Exact start and end dates will be confirmed during the hiring process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Models and teaches Catholic doctrine, values, and morals throughout instruction and classroom management.
- Delivers planned instruction in math, science, and religion to students in grades 3–5 in accordance with state and diocesan standards.
- Follows and supports the curriculum and lesson plans prepared by the full-time classroom teacher, modifying as needed to meet student needs.
- Maintains a structured, faith-filled, and engaging learning environment.
- Uses appropriate instructional strategies, including hands-on activities, discussions, and formative assessments to monitor and support student learning.
- Provides supervision in the classroom, hallways, recess, and other assigned areas.
- Promotes a positive classroom culture of respect, responsibility, and collaboration.
- Maintains consistent classroom routines and upholds school behavior expectations.
- Communicates professionally with parents, students, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities, as appropriate.
- Collaborates with support staff and administration to ensure continuity of instruction and student support.
- Implements safety procedures and emergency protocols as needed.
- Participates in school activities and faith-based opportunities as appropriate for the term of the position.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- An Indiana teaching license or substitute permit is required; preference given to licensed teachers with experience in grades 3–5.
- Experience in teaching math, science, or religion at the elementary level preferred.
- Practicing Catholic strongly preferred, especially for teaching Religion.
- Ability to effectively follow lesson plans and maintain continuity of instruction.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Currently qualified to speak and write coherently, fluently, and grammatically correct English.
- Currently physically qualified to supervise students in a classroom and school environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and operate classroom equipment.
- May occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
