Job Description

We are seeking a Preschool Aide who is compassionate, dependable, and committed to working with young children. The ideal candidate will have a nurturing heart, be a strong team player, and possess a deep understanding of students with diverse developmental needs. This role supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and faith-centered learning environment where every child can grow.

 


Responsibilities
  • Classroom support for lead teacher and students

  • Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and routines

  • Lead small group activities

  • Help prepare and organize classroom materials 

  • Support transitions throughout the school day 

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning space

  • Monitor children to ensure a safe, healthy environment at all times

  • Encourage positive behavior using gentle guidance and redirection

  • Build warm, trusting relationships with children

  • Model respectful behavior and problem-solving strategies

  • Support children’s emotional regulation, including comforting when upset

  • Assist in teaching age-appropriate skills such as letters, numbers, and social interaction

  • Encourage participation and confidence in classroom activities

  • Promote positive behavior and social development

  • Uphold and model Catholic values throughout the school day

  • Communicate professionally with staff, students, and families

 


Qualifications
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
     

  • Patient, caring, and compassionate demeanor
     

  • Ability to work collaboratively and follow directions from lead teacher
     

  • Comfortable supporting children with special or additional needs
     

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
     

  • CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
     

  • Must pass a background check in accordance with diocesan and state regulation
