Maintenance Technician

Maintenance workers are responsible for ensuring that administrators, teachers, students, and patrons have a safe building and grounds for all activities.

Responsibilities

Ensures safe and secure buildings and grounds.

  • Removes snow and ice from walkways and steps in the winter.

  • Performs all safety checks that the building and law require.

  • Performs all work in a safe and proper way to ensure the safety of the building for the occupants.

  • Reports immediately to the Director of Facilities, or in his absence, to the Director of Operations and/or the Principal all unsafe conditions of the occupants of a building.

Maintains the buildings and grounds and all equipment in good working order.

  • Performs preventive maintenance on all equipment used to maintain the building and grounds.

  • Reports all building and grounds maintenance problems to the Director of Facilities.

Maintains all school vehicles.

  • Performs simple preventive maintenance of school vehicles.

  • Performs cleaning of school vehicles when needed as directed by the Director of Facilities.

Performs other duties as directed by the Director of Facilities.

  • Performs maintenance and operational duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities.

  • Dresses in a fashion, while on the job, that shows respect for SJHS.

  • Shows respect for all who use the SJHS facilities.

Communication

  • Communicates all building and grounds maintenance problems to the Director of Facilities.

  • Reports to the Director of Facilities.
