Our Lady of Good Hope is seeking a full-time music educator for the 2025-2026 School
Year. The position is shared between the school and parish music programs. Music
instruction occurs approximately two days per week (Pre-K through 8). Parish activities
include assisting weekly rehearsals, weekend Masses, Holy Days, and general
operations as assigned. Successful candidates will be responsible for creating an
environment that fosters, promotes, and develops a joy for learning, a thirst for
knowledge, a mastery of their vocal technique, and best practices for the teaching of
singing and music in elementary school.
Essential School Duties
1. Teaches knowledge of grade-level content following State Standards, and
utilizing curriculum designated by Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend and other
appropriate learning activities.
2. Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials effectively, with all learners
in mind.
3. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly,
productive classroom environment.
4. Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, and
keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, census
forms, and other recordkeeping activities, as necessary.
5. Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.
6. Co-direct the parish/school children’s choir with the Director of Sacred Music
7. Create engaging school presentations for the school events.
8. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal.

1. Provide singing and/or accompanying support for one Sunday Mass per week
and Holy Days, as needed.
2. Direct children’s choir at weekly sung school Mass (currently Friday).
3. Participate in weekly Mass rehearsals, collaborating with Director of Sacred
Music and ensembles to prepare music selections.
4. Perform at occasional special musical events.
5. Assist Director of Sacred Music with logistical, organizational, and music library
tasks as needed.
6. Co-direct the parish/school children’s choir with the Director of Sacred Music
7. Create engaging presentations for parish events
6. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Director of Sacred Music or
Pastor.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
1. Indiana Teaching License for contractual salary
2. Bachelor’s degree in Liturgy, Music, or Music Ed. or equivalent experience.
3. Proficient singing abilities; preference given to candidates with piano/organ
experience.
4. Excellent classroom management and rehearsal technique.
5. Knowledge of Ward Method, Kodaly, and/or Orff preferred.
6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
