We have an excellent opportunity for an RMA Tech (Backplanes) to join our team. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for performing incoming evaluation, inspection, and testing and repair of circuit boards PCB received from systems (internal), and customer using approved testing procedures and schematics Prioritizes inspection schedules.

Responsibilities:
  • Keep track of all RMAs internal and external on the log.
  • Plans and coordinates work assignments to meet schedule goals.
  • Examines returned assembled circuit boards, applies knowledge of assembly IPC standards and customer requirements.
  • Compares findings after evaluation against internal or customer feedback.
  • Determine the root cause of failure for RMAs with occasional Engineering support and perform the necessary rework and/or repair to the RMA backplanes with manufacturing support as required.
  • Conduct inspection and testing of the backplanes after rework.
  • Find solutions for troubleshooting backplanes.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing the type and quantity of defects detected during evaluation.
  • Work with quality by issuing internal corrective actions as needed.
  • Contributes to the development of processes and procedures
  • Create comprehensive test and RMA reports.
  • Communicate with customers on testing and RMA issues.
  • Ability to set up, understand and troubleshoot com port connections and other basic computer issues as needed
  • ESD: Knowledge of proper PCB board /component handling and ESD prevention practices.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain calibration of test equipment.
  • Support our ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management System
  • Other various tasks as needed to support customer requirements.

Requirements:
  • Current or past certification for IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 is a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. Person per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • ERP software Microsoft D365 is a plus
  • Experience using production and inventory management software such as MES/ERP
  • Good understanding of basic electronics concepts
  • Able to test backplanes of any complexity
  • Able to determine the nature and the cause of a backplane failure at testing and solve the problem
  • Knowledge in P-CAD and Mentor Expedition viewers
  • Experience with troubleshooting backplanes
  • Able to interpret and utilize schematics
  • Excellent vision and color vision capabilities

Preferred Education/Certifications:
  • Associate’s degree in electronics from a two-year college or technical school, equivalent military electronics school(s) or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Targeted Compensation:  $30.00 - 35.00 an hour, dependent upon experience
