Join Elma and help build high-reliability electro-mechanical products. In this hands-on role, you’ll support assembly, calibration, and testing of electro-mechanical devices—combining wiring/harness work with mechanical build activities to meet quality and safety standards.

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor.  This is an onsite role in our Horsham, PA facility. 

What You’ll Do (Essential Functions)

  • Read and follow engineering assembly drawings, bills of material (BOMs), work instructions, and manufacturing procedures
  • Fabricate wire harnesses: splicing, crimping, soldering, and installing connectors (including Molex and AMP-style connectors)
  • Assemble and calibrate electro-mechanical products and chassis
  • Assemble and test mechanical systems using standard electronic test equipment
  • Perform electrical parameter checks on final assemblies
  • Monitor assigned work area needs/metrics and recommend process improvements
  • Provide feedback and suggest design/documentation updates that better match real-world wiring and mechanical builds
What You’ll Use
  • Hand tools and power tools (cutters, strippers, crimpers, etc.)
  • Measuring devices and light equipment
  • Standard electronic test equipment (e.g., meters, oscilloscopes, frequency generators)—preferred experience
What You Bring (Required)
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Basic experience using hand and power tools; strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with cross-functional teams
  • Commitment to keeping a clean, organized, and safe work area
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree (or higher) in Electronic Technology or related coursework
  • Soldering experience (J-STD-001 preferred)
  • Familiarity with Military/DoD environments or requirements
  • Up to ~5 years of experience in a technical and/or assembly environment
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • Roughly 50% electrical/wiring (routing/dressing cables, crimping, soldering) and 50% mechanical assembly using hand tools and measuring devices
  • ESD grounding shoes and/or wrist strap required while working in the assembly facility
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs during chassis assembly and completion
  • Approximately 50% sitting and 50% standing/walking on concrete floors
  • Repetitive work, standing for extended periods, stair use, reaching (about 15%), and occasional heavy lifting
