PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Multi-Modality Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures across multiple imaging modalities in support of patient diagnosis and treatment. This position supports the imaging needs of a Critical Access Hospital by providing high-quality radiologic services to emergency, inpatient, and outpatient populations while maintaining patient safety, regulatory compliance, and radiation protection standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs diagnostic imaging procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Performs imaging exams in one or more modalities, including Radiography and CT, with additional modalities such as MRI or Ultrasound as applicable based on training and department needs.
- Ensures accurate patient identification and exam verification prior to imaging procedures.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images while adhering to ALARA radiation safety principles.
- Reviews images for quality and completeness before submitting to PACS for radiologist interpretation.
- Accurate documents exam details in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and PACS systems.
- Provides compassionate patient care and maintains patient privacy and dignity during procedures.
- Assists with patient transport, positioning, and preparation for imaging exams.
- Maintains imaging equipment, rooms, and supplies in clean and operational conditions.
- Follows hospital infection control, safety, and regulatory policies.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement activities and continuing education.
- Provides on-call coverage and supports emergency imaging services as required.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) is required.
- ARRT certification in CT preferred or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Current Louisiana State Radiologic Technologist License (LSRT) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Knowledge of radiologic imaging techniques and patient positioning.
- Ability to operate radiology equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide imaging services to patients across the lifespan.
- 1–3 years of radiology experience in a hospital or emergency department setting.
- Cross-trained in CT or willingness to obtain CT certification within a specified timeframe.
- Experience working in a multi-modality or rural hospital environment.
- Familiarity with PACS and electronic medical record systems.
- Experience performing imaging exams on emergency, inpatient, and outpatient populations.
- Ability to work independently and participate in on-call coverage.
