DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Buyer provides administrative support to the buyers and buying operations manager. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support for buying team, including taking phone calls and responding to store communication and vendor requests
  • Research, organize, and communicate information
  • Accurately input information regarding orders and inventory management 
  • Assist with retail replenishment
  • Maintain pertinent contact information for suppliers and vendors
  • Adapt to the needs of the buying team and respond to ad hoc requests relevant to the role
  • Assist with inventory processing and retail operations
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Administrative office experience
  • Experience buying in a retail environment strongly preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor degree preferred
  • Mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong experience in retail
  • Self-starter and willingness to learn
  • Attention to detail and thorough follow-up
  • Can work independently or as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • PC Computer Skills: Microsoft Windows, Outlook and Excel proficiency required
  • Capacity to learn new software quickly
