Full-Time Household Manager/Nanny — Ann Arbor, MI
$55,000–$65,000 Annual Salary (Based on Experience)
LGBTQ+ affirming family | Neurodivergence-informed | Attachment-based parenting | Pet-friendly | Long-term position

About the Family:
A professional, warm, and dynamic family in Ann Arbor is seeking an experienced Household Manager/Nanny to serve as a true partner in caregiving and household management.

The household includes two energetic, bright, neurodivergent children (ages 2 and 4) who thrive on flexibility, creativity, and emotionally responsive caregiving. Traditional, rigid, or consequence-based parenting approaches are not aligned with the family's values.

The parents practice attachment-based parenting, which includes:

  • Consistent responses to emotional needs
  • No use of cry-it-out, planned ignoring, or extinction-based methods
  • Emotional responsiveness to distress
  • Use of co-regulation, emotional validation, and autonomy-building strategies

The family emphasizes gentle, respectful caregiving, emotional coaching, creativity, playful structure, and partnership. They also share their home with two friendly dogs and maintain a joyful, busy household environment.

Note: The family has allergies and chemical sensitivities and requires a nanny comfortable working in a scent-free home.

What Makes This Role Unique:
This is more than a traditional caregiving role. The ideal candidate will serve as a household partner and executive function support—someone who:

  • Takes initiative in meal and activity planning, as well as household organization

  • Monitoring household inventory and supplies
  • Developing systems for better household efficiency
  • Liaising with the cleaning service

Childcare:

  • Care for two children (ages 2 and 4) as needed on, Fridays (children are home from school), sick days, 1–3 days/month when daycare is closed, school breaks and vacations
