Afternoon Nanny/Household Manager – Norwich, VT

$30–$35/hour | 20–40 hours/week | Start Date: September 1 (Flexible)

A warm and welcoming family in Norwich, VT is seeking a reliable, proactive, and kind nanny to care for their three school-aged children, ages 9, 10, and 12. The core position is part-time, focused on after-school care, with the option to expand to a full-time schedule by adding household management responsibilities. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who values consistency, collaboration, and building strong relationships with both children and parents.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 2:15 PM – 6:15 PM (20 hours/week guaranteed)
  • Optional: Additional morning or midday household management hours to increase the role to 35–40 hours/week
  • Minimum one-year commitment, with the option to stay longer

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $30–$35 per hour, based on experience
  • Two weeks paid vacation
  • Five paid sick/personal days
  • Paid major holidays (unless otherwise discussed)

About the Children
The children are independent, respectful, and involved in school, sports, and creative activities. They benefit from a consistent and structured environment with clear boundaries and warmth. This role involves being a calm, attentive presence in their afternoons—helping them transition from school to home life, complete their homework, and stay organized.

Primary Responsibilities (included in all roles):

  • Pick-up from school and transportation to local activities (mileage reimbursed)
  • Engage children in age-appropriate conversation and connection
  • Supervise and assist with homework and school projects
  • Prepare after-school snacks and occasional dinners
  • Light tidying of common areas and children’s spaces
  • Manage children’s laundry

Additional Responsibilities (for candidates seeking full-time hours):

  • Grocery shopping and meal preparation
  • Household errands such as dry cleaning drop-off/pick-up and post office runs
  • Coordination of appointments and household vendors
  • Organizing gear, mudroom, and light home systems
  • Occasional support for family calendar management
  • Communication with weekly housekeeper
