Position Summary:
The Contract Specialist is responsible for managing, negotiating, and administering contracts to ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. This role involves reviewing contract terms, assessing risks, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support procurement and contractual operations. This position will require research into regulations to ensure contracts are updated and in compliance with all applicable guidance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including procurement agreements, service agreements, and government contracts.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contract changes
- Draft, review, and negotiate subcontracts, task orders, work requests or any other type of document necessary for day-to-day business operations
- Administer executed contract actions
- Monitoring Compliance: Ensuring all parties fulfill their contractual obligations.
- Managing Changes: Processing amendments, modifications, or extensions.
- Tracking Milestones & Deliverables: Ensuring deadlines and key obligations are met.
- Handling Payments & Invoices: Verifying billing accuracy and ensuring timely payments.
- Resolving Disputes: Addressing performance issues or contractual disagreements.
- Maintaining Documentation: Keeping accurate records for audits and future reference.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies and regulations.
- Analyze contract terms and conditions to mitigate risks and align with business objectives.
- Coordinate with legal, finance, and procurement teams to facilitate contract execution.
- Provide guidance on contractual obligations, policies, and best practices.
- Assist in resolving contract-related disputes and issues.
- Conduct market research to support procurement strategies and cost analyses.
- Support internal audits and reporting related to contract performance and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working with government contracts or equivalent work experience.
- Shipyard/Industrial Experience, preferred

- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
- Meet productivity goals and quality standards as set by management.
- Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States
- This position requires US Citizenship due to clearance required for base access
- Must be able to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites
- All candidates must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening and a background check before employment begins. Failure to complete any of these steps will result in disqualification
- Valid State of Hawaii drivers' license in good standing, class 3 or higher
- Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and other job sites on time for the start of shift
