Position Overview
Under supervision of the Medication Access Champion Director, the Certified Peer Support Worker will connect and engage with clients struggling with substance use disorders (SUD) to engage and continue treatment to assist clients with care transition

Qualifications For Position
Certification:  Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) Certification preferred or enroll in training and other requirement to obtain  CPRS Certification within 12 months of employment.

Skills and Abilities: Active listening, critical thinking, and persuasion
Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 11a-7p
 Hourly Rate: $17.51 per hour plus $1 per hour worked Quarterly Bonus (must be actively
                      employed during distribution)
                      $21.60 per hour Only with CPRS Certification - Not eligible for $1 Quarterly Bonus                       Plus a Comprehensive Benefit and Training Package

Job Responsibilities 
  • Provide support to SUD clients based on personal lived experience in the Emergency Shelter
  • Engage clients in to seek treatment and connect with those that are being treated to continue in their recovery; embracing all pathways to recovery
  • Assist with providing Naloxone education and distribution kits
  • Assist providing brochures and literature on available community resources
  • Support all MAT initiatives including communicating all factual information on MAT
  • Assist coordinating with harm reduction efforts
  • Attend trainings provided by Rescue Mission of Trenton and other community-based
Documentation
  • Initiates timely documentation of services delivered
  • Prepares and maintains records and reports including updated the daily newspaper
  • Reviews intake records to ensure all necessary documentation is complete according to established policies and procedures
Safety
  • Tours physical facility to ensure safe, clean, and orderly environment for staff, clients, residents, and visitors
  • Assists with evacuations during drills and emergencies
  • Notifies appropriate staff of facility equipment issues
Miscellaneous
  • Transports and accompanies clients to appointments as requested
  • Attends all unit meetings and Staff Trainings as required
