The Rescue Mission of Trenton is seeking an Environmental Services Coordinator to lead our custodial operations and engage volunteer clients from our Behavioral Health and Emergency Shelter programs in meaningful work.Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and supervise Behavioral Health and Emergency Shelter clients to participate in custodial activities.
Scheduling: Develop and manage daily custodial schedules for day and early evening shifts, ensuring adequate coverage.
Custodial Oversight: Supervise and participate in cleaning and maintenance tasks to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Client Engagement: Provide mentorship and guidance to volunteer clients, fostering a sense of purpose and building practical skills.
Collaboration: Coordinate with overnight custodial staff and other team members to ensure smooth transitions and consistent operations.
Compliance: Uphold health and safety standards, providing training on proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED); additional training in facilities management is a plus.
Experience in custodial services, volunteer coordination, or social services preferred.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals facing behavioral health or housing challenges.
Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and safety procedures.

Schedule and Working Conditions:
Monday - Friday- (40 hours) Day and early evening shifts, with occasional flexibility requirement on the weekends.
Salary: $51,500 with a comprehensive benefit package.
Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Frequent interaction with individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges or housing insecurity.
