In this role, you’ll engage residents in fun, safe, and enriching activities and help bring special events to life throughout the year—from planning and set-up to clean-up and celebration. This role is onsite in Beaverton and may be required to work weekends.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists in carrying out activity programs as identified in the monthly calendar and as instructed by the activity’s director.
  • Provides one-to-one programming for residents who cannot participate in a group setting.
  • Coordinates with the activity’s director and other staff as necessary to bring residents to and from activities and events.
  • Assists in decorating for the holidays with the help of residents and the volunteers and helps carry out special events.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience working in the long-term care setting.
  • Experience working with individuals living with physical or cognitive disabilities, including individuals with Dementia.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to establish strong rapport with Maryville residents and their families and friends.
  • Must be an individual with abundance of patience.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of residents, staff and volunteers.
  • A proven track record of reliability and a strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements: 
  • Works in temperature-controlled office areas, but frequently moves through the entire facility, including patient rooms, and common lobbies.
  • Characterized by moderate noise levels with frequent interruptions.
  • Required to stand or walk for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull or move at least 50 pounds independently.
  • Requires regular bending, stooping, reaching, strong dexterity, and kneeling.
  • Must be able to read, understand and speak English fluently.
