Cybersecurity Architect / Engineer

As an Cybersecurity Architect / Engineer, you will work closely with our clients assisting with new technology projects and support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cybersecurity Service Delivery
    • Execute and help other members of the team to execute projects that fall within the Cybersecurity team’s set of standardized service offerings, which currently include the following:
      • Full security audits including penetration testing, systems inventory, and assessment of organizational security policies and procedures
      • Infrastructure Strategy planning, involving assessment of existing network and systems architectures and developing blueprints for migrating to more streamlined setups
      • Implementation of security tooling to protect against both casual attacks and APTs including DLP, and SEIM systems.
      • Securing Microsoft 365 platform
      • Securing Google Workspace platform
      • Large-scale migrations of collaboration tools and databases to cloud SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS platforms
    • Conduct infrastructure assessments for clients undertaking full Strategic Technology Plans
    • Work with the Cyber Security Team to help assess, monitor, and strengthen our’ core IT systems to keep them safe from compromise and ensure that they remain compliant with evolving best practices in systems administration and security.
    • Security Event Response, including forensic investigation, rapid vulnerability mitigation, and ad-hoc strategic planning to plug the bigger holes that led to the breach
    • Assist with scoping new and custom projects requested by the Sales or Account Management teams, and speak with clients about potential projects
  • Security Advisor
  • Meet with clients to provide advisory services on cybersecurity strategies, Including:
      • Threat Management & Incident Response
      • Security Strategy Development:
      • Technology & Solution Recommendations:
      • Training & Awareness:
      • Regulatory & Compliance Guidance:
  • Customer Service
    • Serve as initial escalation point for customer service issues related to cybersecurity service delivery
    • Maintain strong customer service skills when dealing with clients, vendors, and other Tech Impact partners
 
  • Internal Security Risk Management
    • Review and provide input into the company’s overall cybersecurity program
    • Lead remediation process for all cybersecurity related gaps identified during Internal audit reviews as well as reviews performed by third party entities and auditors, and per direction of the Managing Director of Technology Services
    • Work with the Infrastructure team to develop strong cybersecurity posturing across all of TI’s infrastructure (on-prem and cloud) to better protect our organization’s network
Knowledge Skills Preferred
Above all, the Cyber Security team members have a passion for social service, excellent written and verbal skills, and an eagerness to take on new challenges and master new skills. Skills required in this position include:
  • Experience with the nonprofit sector or other mechanisms for social change (including but not limited to volunteering, advocacy, and political campaign work)
  • Strong understanding of Cybersecurity concepts
  • Strong understanding of IaaS and SaaS platforms
  • Experience working in Azure / Microsoft 365
  • Experience working in Google Workspace
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, including advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Strong understanding of fundamental networking components, including DNS, DHCP, routing, IP addressing and subnetting, NAT, firewalls, etc.
  • Excellent communication, writing, analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge in any of the following topics will be helpful but not required:
  • Web / Email / database / file server administration
  • Management of cloud-based productivity and security tools
