JOB TITLE:  Product Development Engineer                                                    REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:  Sales Manager  

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Product Development Engineer is the primary sales resource for our customers. They are responsible for working collaboratively with our customers as a technical advisor and product advocate. The PDE must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all commercial and technical projects to assure complete customer satisfaction.

MAJOR DUTIES
  1. Understands customer needs
    1. Research Accounts
    2. Identifies key players and generates interest in P1 Technologies product and services
  2. Source new sales leads through
    1. Inbound lead follow-up
    2. Outbound cold calls and emails
    3. Industry Networking
    4. Trade Shows
    5. Customer visits
  3. Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas
    1. Sales – by assigned territory  
    2. Quoted Sales - new and legacy business  
    3. New Accounts – first-time account
    4. Account Reviews – Top 100 customers
    5. Use Consultative Selling Techniques
  4. Sales Engineering Duties
    1. Work on new product development
    2. Coordinate projects between P1 Technologies and Customer
    3. Submit Engineering Change Orders, including customer-initiated changes, for processing
    4. Issue Bills of Material for new products and make changes to existing Bill of Materials
    5. Understand and follow quality-related standards and documentation (ISO 9001 and ISO 13485)
  5. Order Processing
    1. Product Price – create customer quote-based customer requirements
  6. Assist Customer Service with – Billing, Pricing, Shipping, and Returns -
    1. Determine appropriate action using documented process
    2. Expedite orders in coordination with the production manager
  7. Maintain organized and structed work environment 
  8. Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Strong phone presence and experience dialing 10-15 calls per day
  2. Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  4. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  5. Proven sales experience selling custom manufactured products to OEM Clients within the Medical industry
EDUCATION
2 years of college curriculum in an engineering field required; 4 year degree preferred

EQUIPMENT USED
Computers, various software, calculator, telephone, copier

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires frequent use of hands, minimal fumes, minimal noise, minimal lifting, close/color vision, bending and stooping, remaining seated most of the time
