Low Voltage Technician (Chicago, IL)

Skilled Trades Services is seeking a Low Voltage Technician. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy and capable of completing installations on both the software and hardware sides.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1- 3 years of experience in a Commercial Construction environment. Low-voltage systems experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Ability to travel out of state, and work evenings and weekends as needed
• Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate various PC or web-based applications to complete installations
• Reliable transportation and basic hand tools are required
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools is preferred. Network tools and electrical testing equipment experience is helpful
• Ability to lift over 50lbs., climb ladders, and work in tight spaces
• *E-Verify used to confirm the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair low voltage systems, such as video surveillance, access control, commercial AV and network wiring
• Test and troubleshoot low voltage systems to identify and resolve any issues
• Work alongside and collaborate with other technicians and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Working courteously and professionally with all clients, fellow employees, subcontractors, other trades, and vendors
• Ability to guide clients and answer questions on the usage of the newly installed systems and applications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
