Title: Senior Vice President of Revenue & Development
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

The Senior Vice President (SVP) of the State Chamber and the State Chamber Research Foundation is tasked with driving revenue growth and ensuring long-term membership expansion and retention. This pivotal leadership role will oversee all fundraising efforts, including membership sales, capital campaigns, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and grant development, ensuring a diverse portfolio of revenue streams. The SVP will directly manage a team, providing clear guidance and mentorship while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.

In addition to managing internal resources, the SVP will build and nurture strategic relationships with members, business leaders, policymakers, and other key stakeholders across the state. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can implement innovative fundraising strategies to maximize impact, anticipate trends, and leverage data-driven insights into all decisions.

The SVP will also collaborate closely with the communications team to align fundraising efforts with the organization’s branding and messaging. By shaping compelling marketing strategies, the SVP will enhance donor engagement and member outreach efforts. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with strong interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at the highest levels and fostering meaningful partnerships that support the organization's mission and vision.

Ultimately, the SVP will be a key driver in expanding the organization's reach and influence, ensuring its financial sustainability while deepening its connections throughout the state.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Revenue & Business Development

 
  • Lead Revenue Initiatives: Oversee and drive all efforts related to revenue generation, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic priorities.
  • Strategic Revenue Growth: Develop and implement strategies to increase and diversify revenue streams, incorporating a mix of service business income, corporate partnerships, major donors, foundations, and affinity programs.
  • Member Acquisition Strategy: Lead efforts to recruit prospective Oklahoma businesses by developing an effective member acquisition plan raising awareness of the organization’s value, creating a compelling desire to participate, and providing clear pathways for member engagement.
  • Membership Retention: Lead initiatives to retain members, implementing procedures that encourage sustained participation and loyalty.
  • Membership Growth & Engagement: Identify and implement innovative approaches to expand member outreach, boost engagement, and increase membership revenue.
  • Performance Metrics & Leadership: Establish clear metrics to evaluate success, and lead both membership and leadership teams to achieve these benchmarks through well-organized efforts.
  • Progress Reporting: Track, monitor, and report fundraising progress, delivering regular updates to the board, executive leadership, and staff to maintain transparency and accountability.
  • Collaborative Fundraising Strategy: Work closely with the Board of Directors, the Membership Development Committee, and executive leadership to craft and execute a comprehensive annual development and fundraising plan.
  • Strategic Priorities Alignment: Actively participate in the management team to ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic priorities and objectives.
  • New Member Programs: Oversee the development of programs for new members, ensuring they are strategically aligned with the organization’s broader goals.
  • Thought Leadership: Propose and develop strategies for thought leadership initiatives, including identifying opportunities for speaking engagements, events, and media outreach that enhance the organization's visibility and influence.

Membership Marketing
 
  • Develop Marketing Materials: Lead the creation of innovative marketing materials and engagement resources to enhance growth and fundraising efforts.
  • Collaborate with Communications: Partner with the Communications team to drive marketing initiatives, ensuring donor- and member-centric materials such as board reports, social media content, impact reports, newsletters, email campaigns, and event collateral align with the organization’s branding and messaging strategy.
  • Branding Oversight: Review and guide all branding and marketing materials related to membership efforts, ensuring consistency and clarity in messaging.
  • Brand Positioning: Advise on brand positioning and messaging strategies to ensure uniformity across all fundraising and membership collateral.

Management & Administrative
 
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure all plans and initiatives adhere to Chamber policies, procedures, and standard administrative protocols.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise three full-time staff members, providing ongoing guidance and support to drive results.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage department-level revenues and expenses, ensuring financial accountability and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Expense Management: Accurately manage and submit expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Liaison Role: Serve as the main point of contact and liaison for the Membership Development Committee, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
 
  • Educational & Professional Experience: A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, Political Science, or a closely related field, combined with a minimum of 10 years of proven success in sales and/or marketing.
  • Nonprofit Development Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of nonprofit development, including major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, individual and planned giving, annual campaigns, donor acquisition, digital fundraising, and capital campaigns.
  • Revenue Diversification Success: Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategies to diversify revenue streams.
  • Fundraising Leadership: Ability to set ambitious fundraising goals and collaborate with senior leadership to achieve these through strategic and creative decision-making.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Strong entrepreneurial skills, with a proven ability to identify opportunities and proactively pursue them.
  • Sales Expertise: In-depth understanding of sales practices and techniques, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales objectives.
  • Business Planning & Analytical Skills: Strong business planning, time management, and analytical abilities to drive performance and results.
  • Knowledge of Policy Issues: Understanding of state and national policy issues relevant to the Chamber, and how they affect the business community.
  • Community Business Knowledge: A clear understanding of the business needs of the local community, with a focus on fostering strong partnerships.
  • Interpersonal & Sales Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, including sales aptitude and customer relations, with a strong ability to motivate and achieve sales objectives.
  • Communication Excellence: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver persuasive reports and presentations tailored to various audiences.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position. Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases are very limited.  Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of a normal office environment.  No environmental hazards are encountered in performance of normal job duties.  Travel may be required. Use of personal vehicle and driving may be required.
