The Director of Marketing and Public Relations is responsible for developing, implementing, and measuring the success of Saint Joseph High School’s marketing plan. The Director of Marketing and Public Relations supports and strengthens the mission of Saint Joseph High School to transform students in heart and mind, preparing them to serve God, the Church, and the world. 

Responsibilities:

Communications and Publications

  • Works collaboratively and proactively with all constituent groups to communicate effectively the message and mission of Saint Joseph High School.
    Maintains and updates the school website and all social media channels.

  • Maintains a comprehensive file of school photography, and photographs school functions.

  • Designs, writes, proofs and distributes electronic newsletters and print publications, including the Annual Report, Admissions Viewbook, Gala Catalog, Focus Magazine.

  • Ensures consistent and accurate messaging across all communications platforms.

  • Creates and distributes weekly push notifications and emails or announcements from administration as needed.

  • Provides timely information for parish bulletins and partner school communications.

Marketing

  • Drafts the annual Strategic Marketing/Communications Plan.

  • Writes, proofs, and distributes press releases.

  • Maintains a strong strategic relationship with local media, partner school communications directors, parishes, and other key constituents..

  • Coordinates and manages ads for distribution online, on air, and in print.

  • Creates marketing materials for admissions and other departments.

  • In consultation with the Principal and Director of Mission Advancement, approves branding, content and imaging of Saint Joseph High School on printed materials, uniforms, and merchandise.

  • Track website and social media analytics and provide weekly reports on reach and effectiveness.

  • Maintain school profile on third-party sites as applicable.

Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will exhibit exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; demonstrate above average writing competency, timeliness, and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously; possess emotional intelligence; be team-oriented and individually accountable; maintain confidentiality; demonstrate proficiency in social media and web editing tools; be available to work evenings and weekends. Must possess a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, English, or a relevant field. 

Organizational Structure:

A member of the Office of Mission Advancement, the Director of Marketing and Public Relations works closely with the Director of Admissions, the Alumni Coordinator, the Advancement Coordinator and the Spirit Wear Coordinator, and reports to the Director of Mission Advancement. The Director of Marketing and Public Relations works collaboratively with all faculty, staff and administrators at Saint Joseph High School and maintains positive relationships with constituents and local media.
