ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist Maintenance team in the direction of maintenance and repairs of the Supermaxx soil blending line and other processing equipment.
- Monitor operations of the soil blending line to ensure quality and safety.
- Assist in and monitor training of Production Workers.
- Direct Soil Blending Operations and operate the Supermaxx blending line as needed.
- Dispatch delivery trucks as needed.
- Monitor and track receiving of raw materials.
- Maintain accurate and current record of raw material weights for calculations.
- Ensure proper documentation of inventory transactions (shipments, transfers, receipts, etc.).
- Assist Plant Manager in the measurement and counting of raw materials for inventory verification and reconciliation.
- Develop and direct calibration procedures for the Supermaxx blending line and related equipment.
- Develop and direct protocols for processing packaged raw materials to maximize yield and reduce shrinkage.
- Investigate, document, and track customer complaints and concerns regarding soil quality and volume.
- Supervision of all personnel to ensure that safety and health factors are recognized in all processes.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local ordinances affecting this position.
- Ensure compliance with all Company policies and programs.
- Maintain valid licenses, certifications and/or permits required to perform responsibilities.
- Ensure cleanliness of plant.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture or related field preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Experience operating forklift and skid steer loader.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Thorough knowledge of all production methods, techniques and related equipment.
- Must be able to read and interpret Mix Sheets and Pick Lists.
- Must have complete knowledge of production scheduling and plant operations.
- Must be extremely organized, self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Must have strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Communicating with internal and external customers – must be able to talk, hear, see, and comprehend.
- Mobility of arms – Must be able to reach and use arms to manipulate small objects.
- Mobility inside the plant – Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend, and lift up to 100 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Position will require some weekend work as necessary to complete essential functions.
- Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Work is routinely performed in a general warehouse environment on a concrete surface, with frequent exposure to both internal and external environment.
- Frequent exposure to severe weather conditions, both heat and cold.
- Frequent exposure to dust, and noise levels that exceed a normal threshold.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
- Must wear steel-toed boots.
- Required: Safety glasses and ear gloves
- Recommended: Gloves, back brace, and safety attire as noted by guides provided in specific areas. These will be provided by Harrell’s upon request.
- Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in accordance with SDS recommendations.
