ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Ensuring that the plants are supplied with enough raw substrates to keep the plants from shutting down.

· Assist maintenance personnel with general maintenance of plant equipment.

· Maintain cleanliness of the front-end loader, loading area, raw material storage area in the plant and to assist in general plant cleanliness when needed.

· Completing Operator Care assessments of equipment.

· Ensure that the instructions given from the lead operator or supervisor are followed through concerning which bin to fill, what type fertilizer to load and how much to load.

· Completes LOTO of equipment for maintenance or operational issues.

· Routinely work in confined spaces (Drums/Mixers) with pneumatic tools for entire shifts.

· Cross-Training in other departments will be required periodically throughout the year, which

would involve working in areas outside of your primary environment.

EDUCATION:

· Minimum High School Degree or GED equivalent preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

· Minimum of one-year experience driving a front-end loader preferred.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Must have basic knowledge in manufacturing environment.

· Must be self-motivated and can work independently.

· Must be able to read and interpret production schedule.

· Must have basic computer skills to navigate through multiple screens and input data.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Communicating with internal and external customers – must be able to talk, hear, see, and comprehend.

· Mobility of arms – Must be able to reach and use arms to manipulate small objects.

· Mobility inside the plant – Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend, and occasionally lift to 50 pounds.

· Must be able to move and work in tight confined spaces for extended periods of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

. Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

. Work is routinely performed in a general warehouse environment on a concrete surface, with frequent exposure to both internal and external environment.

. Frequent exposure to severe weather conditions, both heat and cold.

. Frequent exposure to dust, and noise levels that exceed a normal threshold.

 

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

. Must wear steel-toed boots.

. Recommended: Safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, back brace, and safety attire as noted by guides provided in specific areas. These items will be provided by Harrell’s upon request.

. Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in accordance with SDS recommendations.
