ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Handle raw material warehouse activities to fulfill production needs, meet inventory requirements and receive raw material products in a timely fashion.
  • Unload all bulk and raw materials to ensure safety and health factors are recognized in all processes.
  • Maximize material utilization based on fertilizer orders to maintain maximum efficiency.
  • Responsible for ordering, coordinating delivery, and receiving raw materials.
  • Ensure and maintain the overall cleanliness of the raw materials area in warehouse and bulk unloading area as well as its surrounding areas.
  • Assist Plant Manager in the daily, weekly and monthly inventory shrinkage and reconciliation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local ordinances affecting this position.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies and programs.
  • Maintain valid licenses, certifications and/or permits required to perform responsibilities.
  • Ensure timely processing of system information and proper documentation concerning inventory transactions (shipments, transfers, receipts, changes in cost/price, etc.).
  • Actively manage inventory, staying within levels established by management.
  • Work with Plant Manager in support of the safety and compliance regulations of plant and warehouse activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 2 years experience with raw materials preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience operating loading equipment preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Thorough knowledge of all production methods, techniques and related equipment.
  • Must have a strong understanding of raw material and other inventory functions.
  • Must be able to read and interpret run list and specifications on formulations.
  • Must be familiar with fertilizer construction and application.
  • Must be extremely organized, self-motivated and can work independently.
  • Must be able to supervise/perform multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Must be computer literate.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Communicating with internal and external customers – must be able to talk, hear, see, and comprehend.
  • The use of a computer and phone – Must be able to see, type, write, finger, grasp, and sit; must be able to use a mobile phone.
  • Mobility of arms – Must be able to reach, and use arms to manipulate small objects.
  • Mobility inside the plant, stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend, and regularly lift up to 100 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Work is routinely performed in a general production environment on a concrete surface, with frequent exposure to both the internal and external environment.
  • Frequent exposure to severe weather conditions, both heat and cold.
  • Frequent exposure to dust, and noise levels that exceed a normal threshold.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
  • Must wear steel-toed boots.
  • Recommended: Safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, back brace, and safety attire as noted by guides provided in specific areas. These will be provided by Harrell’s upon request.
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in accordance with SDS recommendations.
