Position: Chief Financial Officer
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Status: Salary, Full Time, some evenings and weekends required

Position description: This position will oversee all financial operations including day-to-day financial accounting functions, budgeting and cash flow planning, and recording and reporting for the Food Bank in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. The CFO reports to the CEO and will work closely with each department of the Food Bank to provide strategic direction, ensure the fiscal health  of the organization and support the overall mission.

Essential responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight for and manage all day-to-day financial operations including budgets, forecasts and internal financial plans and processes.
  • Provide timely (monthly, quarterly, annual) and accurate financial reporting, analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.
  • Partner with Development to establish clear revenue metrics, forecasting, reporting, reconciliation, etc.
  • Develop budgets for the agency as a whole, individual programs and new/proposed/expanded services, including the preparation of budget revisions as needed.
  • Participate in developing and execute on the Food Bank’s strategic plan.
  • Prepare, analyze and present monthly financial reports for the agency, its programs, and activities.
  • Report on financial results and issues to the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Review short and long-term goals in light of existing and projected financial resources available.
  • Oversee and review the preparation of all program financial reporting required for funding sources.
  • Manage the Billing, Accounts Receivable and Accounts payables functions/staffs and the integration of billing information from the Electronic Health Record system into the accounting system.
  • Oversee the agency’s banking activities and actively manage cash flow to ensure it meets agency needs.
  • Manage the negotiation and execution of agency contracts with funding sources, vendors and collaborative service providers.
  • Manage accounting control systems and internal audits enduring the accurate and timely production of accounting information and financial reports.
  • Monitor changes in legal, regulatory and administrative environments and implement changes in procedures and needed to maintain compliance while maximizing operational and financial results.
  • Manage the agency’s liability insurance program, including ongoing risk analysis.
  • Review efficiency/effectiveness of employee benefit programs, seeking approaches to lower costs where possible and consistent with required quality levels.
  • Serve as the agency’s primary liaison with its independent Auditor to ensure the annual audit is completed smoothly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the Food Bank meets critical regulatory and legal compliance benchmarks.
  • Establish and maintain transparent, collaborative relationships with the Executive Team, keep senior leadership abreast of Food Bank financial status, support and advise on the financial implications of business alternatives and decisions including relevant internal controls for safeguarding assets and key financial process areas and growth plans.
  • Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
  • Oversee the annual financial audit, mandatory state and federal program audits, preparation and submission of the IRS 990 report and other reports as necessary.
  • Oversee project and grants accounting; ensure expenditures are aligned with project and grant budgets; collate financial reporting materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting finance, business admin, or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Working with high-velocity inventory transactions, preferably food.
  • 8+ years of leadership experience serving as a financial leader.
  • Strong finance professional with ability to see “big-picture” perspective but able to operate in a “hands-on” capacity, if needed.
  • Sound technical skills and analytical ability; well-versed in accounting systems and technology necessary to optimize all reporting and analytical functions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board, or other outside partners.
  • Provide leadership in strengthening communications throughout all levels of the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Team player with a customer service focus; ability to build positive, supportive and influential relationships with the Senior Leadership Team and throughout the organization.
  • Non-profit financial management experience preferred.

Requirements:
  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license and use of personal vehicle.
  • Must be able to perform the position duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
  •  Must be in good physical health with ability to perform moderate lifting (20 pounds).
