Residential Counselor- Overnight Position- FT

Allied Community Programs is looking for you to join our team.  Full-time, part-time, and per diem positions are available in community residences in northern CT for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This hourly position starts at $17.77, with a complete benefits package depending on employment status. Full-time benefits include full medical coverage, a retirement plan with a 25% match after one year of employment, and vacation/sick time provided pro-rated bi-weekly—a medical plan as low as $0 per pay period for employees only.

Qualifications:

 
  • High school diploma, 21+ years of age.  Clean criminal background and driving record required.
  • A history of reliable work habits.
  • Top consideration given to those with related experience and motivation to improve the lives of persons with/ disabilities.
  • Successful experience working with individuals exhibiting challenging medical, physical, and behavioral needs.
     
Duties of this position:

Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

 
  • Responsible for daily care, instruction, and assistance for individuals at residential homes.
  • Documents all activities according to provided guidelines.
  • Provides transportation for individuals using an agency vehicle.
  • Provides individualized training, assistance, and choices to individuals as described in the Individual Program Plan.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Professionalism in interacting with clients and co-workers.
  • Ability to become State of CT certified to administer medications and maintain that certification throughout employment.
  • Ability to complete work-related tasks regularly.
