Education: High School Diploma or GED
Months/Years of Experience: Three (3) year of full time professional experience as an Engineering Technician, performing the following skills: welding (mig, tig, stick, and gas) or machine operation (lathes and mills), sheet metal fabrication, interpreting models and drawing packages, knowledge of machinery or welding fixture applications, basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and CAMWorks, basic CNC programming skills, create drawings from preliminary design and / or field notes, perform basic drafting and design calculations and minimal instruction needed to create/modify documentation.
Required Qualifications: U.S. Citizen. Must have or be able to obtain a security clearance.
Skills Needed: Welding; machine operation, basic drafting, CAD/CAM software; CNC programming.
Duties: The Engineering Technician II performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations, follows standard work methods on recurring assignments but receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments. Technical adequacy of routine work is reviewed on completion; non-routine work may be reviewed in progress. This technician performs at this level, one or a combination of such typical duties as:
a. Following specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, servicing or repairing simple instruments or equipment;
b. Conducting a variety of tests using established methods, preparing test specimens, adjusting and operating equipment, recording test data, and pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors;
c. Extracting engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources, processing the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry, and presenting the data in prescribed form.
Comments: Compliance with health mandates as dictated by the contract may be required as a condition of employment.
