Engineering Technician I (Huntsville, AL)

Education: High School Diploma or GED
Months/Years of Experience: One (1) year of applicable experience in engineering technical work that developed skills in making measurements using test instruments and computing.
Required Qualifications: U. S. Citizenship. A valid driver's license. Ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
Duties: This position requires laboratory bench work as well as manual lifting up to 50 lbs. Ability to understand basic engineering terminology and communicate effectively with others. Ability to use bench level electronics laboratory equipment. Responsible for supporting a variety of tasks using established methods and procedures. Tasking will also include duties, assisting with equipment inventories, supporting equipment calibration requirements and other general support duties as required. Must be able to follow specific instructions and perform well toward accomplishing tasks while adhering to required safety and security requirements. Must be able to work as a team member in a collaborative effort, taking initiative at times when direction is implicit. The candidate must be willing to support overtime on an occasional basis.
Desired Qualifications: Two (2) years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school a plus.

This person will be responsible for conducting visual inspections (marking, packaging, and workmanship), dimensional inspections, and electrical testing on an array of electrical components and cable assemblies on multiple missile systems to support these programs.
