Work directly with master scheduler to ensure timely procurement of alloy.  Interact with manufacturing managers, engineering, quality, and finance to receive, process, certify, and distribute alloy to the foundry to ensure customer schedules are met. 

  • Oversee day to day operations of the alloy crib; which include and are not limited to safety, quality, delivery, cost and equipment.
  • Manage all alloy assistants; provide daily schedules and review performance on a regular basis.
  • Check shipments when they arrive to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and that incoming product meets both internal and customer quality specifications.
  • Manage day to day inventory of the alloy crib.
  • Conduct monthly cycle counts and provide finance with a summary of results.
  • Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for demand, provide feedback to production control to order more materials when necessary.
  • Work to Engineering requirements for alloy (Revert/Virgin).
  • Schedule heats with the vendors.
  • Ensure heats get qualified.
  • Track unreleased and release heat and coordinate appropriately within the plant.
  • Owner of the Alloy Work Instructions (create/modify as needed).
  • Incorporate Best Practices for alloy management.
  • Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
  • Complete other jobs and projects as assigned.

  • Education: Associate Degree and five years of manufacturing experience.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Basic computer skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, PEI’s and Work Instructions.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Basic problem-solving skills.  Mechanically inclined. Detail oriented. Safety conscious.  Written and Oral Comprehension
