Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) has an immediate need for a General Laborer for its Shakeout operation for Wollaston Alloys Inc. in Braintree, MA, to join our team. Wollaston Alloys is a stainless steel and high alloy sand casting foundry that manufactures castings for the military and power generation industries.

Duties and responsibilities for the Shakeout Operator include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for transferring/dumping molds to shakeout equipment and activate.
  • Knock off adhering sand foreign material using hammer, bars, pneumatic hammer or vibrating screen equipment.
  • Break off sprues, gates and risers from castings, breakout cores or arbors as necessary.
  • Places castings onto pallets or steel tubs with the assistance of a forklift and a hoist
  • Remove, sort and store gaggers, tools core wires, bottom boards flasks, etc. Place flasks in proper area. Return bottom boards to molders.
  • Inspect pit periodically to insure that there is no sand build up.
  • Assist in stacking, removing castings to cleaning department.
  • Make certain heat identification tags are with/and stay with proper casting.
  • Refers questionable matters to Supervisor.
  • Procures materials/supplies through department supervisor.
  • Reports need of maintenance for equipment to supervisor.
  • Maintains tools and equipment. Maintains work area in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
  • Observe all company rules and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as required or as directed.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Experience: No prior experience required. We will provide training.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Not applicable.
