Position Overview:
This position is responsible for testing, calibration, installation, repair, and inspection of manufacturing control and monitoring devices. Performs general maintenance on equipment and designs new measuring and recording equipment to support constant process improvement.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Calibrate all equipment under the responsibility of the Instrument Department, maintain the calibration schedule and properly record calibration data and records per Company procedures
  • Coordinates the work of outside calibration vendors ensuring the accuracy of the PO placed, the flow-down of Company Customer requirements on the POs, and verifies the work performed.
  • Perform periodic calibration of secondary standards traceable to NIST and record calibrations per Company procedures
  • Interpret and analyze abnormalities in instrumentation and, correct deviations and make necessary repairs
  • Aid Maintenance troubleshooting complex electrical systems, motor drives, hydraulic controls, rectifiers, power supplies and water-cooling systems
  • Maintain leak detectors and assist with leaking checking when Maintenance or Production has difficulty.
  • Install new or modify existing instrumentation and equipment as directed by the Facilities Engineers and/or Maintenance team
  • Layout and construct electronic circuits working from schematics and, if necessary, make modifications to enable the circuit to function properly
  • Troubleshoot electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment
  •  Maintain an operational knowledge of computers and programmable logic controllers in order to load or verify programs on this equipment
  • Answer questions and/or instruct personnel on the use and operation of new instruments and control equipment installed by the Instrument Department
  • Various other duties as assigned by Supervision
Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate Degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Mechanically inclined. Ability to read blueprints. Knowledge of layout equipment
  • Experience: No prior experience required, but experience in a manufacturing, foundry, metal casting, and/or vacuum processing environment is a plus
  • Certifications/Licenses: None required.
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong mathematics foundation, reading comprehension, problem-solving, critical and analytical thinking, computer (GagePack, Microsoft Office, Maintenance software), mechanical skills, clear written and spoken communication, clear judgment and decision making.
