JOB SUMMARY

Prepare ceramic molds for casting paying attention to efficiency and to quality. Position will be on 2nd shift and will train on 1st shift.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Read IMS for instructions.
  • Responsible for cleaning, patching, and wrapping shells prior to pour.
  • Ability to utilize templates to cut ceramic fiber blanket.
  • Ability to use a boroscope to inspect molds for cracked cores, debris, etc.
  • Responsible for repairing molds internally and externally.
  • Must be able to operate the burnout and ramp burnout ovens and handle hot molds.
  • Ability to perform all function in the patch & wrap department unassisted.
  • May be required to assist in the autoclave operation as needed, to include mold prep as well as operating the autoclave unit.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Experience: No prior experience required
  • Certifications/Licenses:
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Read. Write legibly. Basic computer skills. Quality conscious. Safety conscious. Detailed oriented. Sense of urgency.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Working Environment: Dusty factory floor
  • Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in
  • Safety Glasses:  Needed in all areas of the plant.
  • Steel toe shoes:  Needed in all areas of the plant.
  • Thin gloves.
