CNC Machinist

Primary Purpose:
Perform all required duties relating to the operation of machined tools to make machined products that meet precise specifications.  Perform dimensional castings as required.  Monitor and change cutting tools as needed.  Sets up and operates conventional and special purpose machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. Aware at all times of correct orientation of casting being placed in machinery.  Ability to load and unload castings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate/set-up on Haas Vertical Mills safely and efficiently.
  • Maintaining a clean work area.
  • Minimum 2 years experience operating CNC machine; 3 Axis preferred
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawing, manuals, specification, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and grinders.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • HS diploma or equivalent GED required, but candidates not meeting this requirement who possesses relevant experience will be considered.
  • 1-3 years of experience preferred. 
  • Familiar with Haas controllers preferred. 
  • Ability to understand and follow written set up sheets and verbal instructions. 
  • Experience with basic hand held inspection equipment (Calipers, Micrometer, Gage Pins, etc.). 
  • Works effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision. 
  • Reliable and punctual, attendance. 
  • Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations. 
  • Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background check.
  • Must be willing to participate in pre-employment and periodic drug screening.

Working Conditions:
  • Standing 8-10 hours per day.
  • Moderate noise level (CNC Machines as well as De-Burr). 
  • Fast paced environment with opportunity to learn and grow with in the job.
