JOB SUMMARY
Perform high skilled electrical tasks on state of the art equipment. Job duties include troubleshooting and repairing foundry equipment, calibration, and programing. Design/build or upgrade equipment.  Perform regular scheduled preventative maintenance tasks. Other maintenance duties depending on company and departmental needs.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Review preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Perform preventive maintenance per schedule.
  • Communicate with Operators pre- and post-repair.
  • Interact with Operators to troubleshoot, repair and test equipment.
  • Communicate with Maintenance Manager and/or Facilities Manager on major repair needs discovered.
  • Complete, sign and submit work orders.
  • Complete safety inspection on all work.
  • Complete order list of equipment and supplies to be ordered.
  • Call outside contractors as appropriate.
  • Sign off on contractor work orders.
  • Review new equipment standard issues.
  • Follow lock-out, tag out procedures.
  • Repair machines as needed.
  • Evaluate and maintain control software/hardware on plant equipment.
  • Manage control hardware critical spares.
  • Interact with Automation Engineer to design, build, and install various devices.
  • Upgrade and rewire foundry equipment.
  • Attend annual RCRA training and other training as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: High school diploma.
  • Experience: At least five years’ hands-on electromechanical experience.  PLC troubleshooting and programing skills. Variable Frequency Drive troubleshooting and integration experience.

  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  In depth knowledge of the trades with 5+ years’ experience in electronic systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems. Knowledge of electrical testing equipment. Knowledge of troubleshooting tree. PLC troubleshooting skill. Skilled in use of standard mechanical hand tools. Good interpersonal skills. Good follow-up skills. Ability to troubleshoot majority of hi-tech plant equipment with no supervision. Ability to read electrical prints and troubleshoot equipment from 24 volt to 480 volt.  Ability to operate mobile maintenance equipment:  forklift, scissor lift, man lift. Ability to read blueprints. Ability to read electrical and electronic schematics. Ability to troubleshoot and program Variable Frequency Drives (VFD). Ability to interact with a wide variety of people. Self-control. Persistence. Detail orientation. Curiosity about new products and processes. Good judgment.
