JOB DESCRIPTION: Manager, Process Engineering

In this role you will lead Poly6 in operational excellence and system integration by managing a team that controls and improves all manufacturing processes. You will have the opportunity to develop team identity and spearhead industry-leading technical work. You will use your expertise in manufacturing system thinking to drive cultural change at Poly6 via advanced analytics and influenced accountability to existing processes.  You will lead across multiple plants to effectuate tech transfer as we chart the next phase of aviation manufacturing in North America. Specific job-related tasks include:

  • Establish a robust process engineering team to identify, control and monitor KPV’s against technical and commercial requirements
  • Be primarily responsible for continual improvement related to process, cost, production and overall quality of manufactured products.
  • Lead process engineering and equipment maintenance teams, including schedules and downtime.
  • Review, improve upon, and set standards for organization-wide manufacturing documentation.
  • Supervise validation and finalization of new processes and technologies.
  • Investigate manufacturing difficulties and manage corrective procedures with various related engineering functions, e.g. design, standardization of parts, costs reduction and quality control.
  • Lead to improve manufacturing efficiency by applying Lean and Six Sigma principles to workflow, capacity, space requirements, equipment layout, throughput and scrap
  • Work with direct reports to develop project plans, drive accountability to plans and give regular structured updates to the General Manager (Plans should include scope, tasks, results, landmarks, and documentation).
  • Coordinate and support manufacturing activities and new product/process transfer activities including overseeing manufacturing activities during scale-up
  • Act as a technical liaison between operations and engineering teams
  • Manager training of new employees on manufacturing and lean processes
  • Mentor, develop and lead direct reports and other team members outside of reporting relationships.
  • Ensure that process engineering resources are available at all times to protect a continuous operation.
  • Perform all other duties as per the company's needs and requirements.

  • Clear demonstration of having led operational improvements and in managing key transformation factors (e.g., performance management systems, mindsets/behaviors)
  • B.S. in Engineering or systems related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in both growth and manufacturing environments with demonstrated abilities in quality and data management
  • Strong understanding of ERP & financial workings of a manufacturing environment.
  • 10+ years’ in Six Sigma training and Theory of Constraint manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years technical leadership and demonstration of achievement of quantifiable process improvements
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management using project management tools in an industrial environment.
  • Advanced abilities to apply and train statistical analysis in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expert level navigation of both Minitab and JMP software
  • Experience using industry Problem Solving Tools such as 8D, Fishbone/Cause-Effect, or CAPA methodology.
  • Experience using Quality-Statistical tools such as PFMEA and various statistical techniques such as control charting, pareto, or histograms.
  • Experience with Process Optimization Tools including Programming, Mapping, Simulation or various algorithms.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP systems, and Tool / Equipment programming.

  • MS in Engineering, Engineering Management or MBA
  • Experience implementing and optimizing additive manufacturing or ceramic processes.
  • Experience in a CGMP regulated manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Builder mentality that seeks to produce agility and velocity
