(CPP) is currently seeking a driven individual to join our Wollaston Alloys CPP Boston as a Methoding Process Engineer responsible for providing a smooth transition of new products from design to production readiness. This position is responsible for the development of new and transferred products, which encompasses project estimation, tooling acquisition, dissection and application of quality requirements, construction of manufacturing plans and process routing, and defining the necessary inspection processes. A developing leadership role in resolving cross-functional problems is required. Major Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers providing updates to progress against key milestones.
- Manage scrap reduction in the Production operation.
- Lead team to develop cost-effective tooling (outsourced), dimensional, and other processes required to produce and control the metallurgical and NDT integrity of the product, assuring it satisfies customer requirements using tools that test the strength and capabilities of the process both metallurgically and dimensionally.
- Lead team to develop and maintain overall operational sequences for part manufacture in conjunction with Administrative, Manufacturing, Dimensional, Quality, and NDT disciplines.
- Create and manage project timelines to bring products to market expeditiously, providing regular status updates to plant leadership.
- Provide technical support to Sales during part quotations and review drawings and specifications. Provide customers with input relative to design and part specification criteria, lead times, and producibility improvements.
- Develop quotes for tooling customers as required by Inside Sales
- Develop and manage BOMs and ensure accurate standard costs.
- Keep milestone updates and obtain agreements from internal and external customers.
- Oversee the troubleshooting in production processes related to Engineering.
- Oversee the creation and documentation of work instructions for all production processes and procedures
- Work with shop floor personnel to provide an understanding of work instructions.
- Routinely audit production lots for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of the results.
About You
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required
- Experience: 5+ years experience in a sand-casting foundry
- Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Attention to detail, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), ability to work with others through complex situations
