CPP- Industry- Saw Operator 1st shift (General Labor) (City of Industry, CA)

JOB SUMMARY

Remove castings from all spurs, pour cups and any other gated surface and properly dispose of the extra alloy that this operation produces.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Read and understand PEIs.
Recognize gating and castings.
Distinguish between scrap and usable castings.
Use fixtures as appropriate to hold and secure molds.
Remove gate surfaces from castings.
Use cutting wheel as necessary.
Properly dispose of gate surfaces.
Sign off on traveler.
Clean and maintain work area.
Demonstrate care and operation of each cut off method.
Use all safety precautions given and explained.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) not required
Experience: At least one year of manufacturing experience.
Certifications/Licenses: None
Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Read. Write legibly. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, PEI’s and Work Instructions. Basic problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Good interpersonal skills. Excellent team skills. Flexible. Safety conscious. Detail oriented.

Working Environment: Shop floor

Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.

Pulling and holding on your arms and fingers from holding the molds.

Rate of pay: $19.00 an hour
