JOB SUMMARY

Manage inventory and place purchase orders with approved vendors for raw materials or other unprocessed goods, machinery, equipment, tools, parts, and other supplies or services necessary for the operation of the organization.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Manage the procurement process from requisition through receipt of goods and services.
  • Inventory management of raw materials. Including cycle counts.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct monthly supplier evaluations.
  • Collaborate with production planning and department managers to ensure timely availability of materials for production.
  • Review and authorize release of purchase order payments.
  • Discuss defects with quality control/inspection personnel to determine source of defect; initiate corrective action related to vendor.  
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Expedite orders as required for production.
  • Organize and coordinate inventory.
  • Receive and review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications to initiate purchase orders.
  • Maintain records of purchased items, cost, delivery, performance, and inventory.
  • Contact vendors to obtain information concerning product/service, price, vendor capacity to produce product/service, and delivery date.
  • Control level of inventory in storage crib.
  • Set up and maintain capital data warehouse for all information related to capital projects.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to the position.


QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent degree.
  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years prior manufacturing experience desired.
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Detail oriented with strong analytical skills. Ability to multitask. Excellent time management. Excellent MS Office skills. Strong Oracle skills.  Strong organizational skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Social intelligence. Good negotiating skills. Good judgment and decision-making skills. Ability to lift 20 pounds.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT
 
  • Cubicle/Office Setting. May require occasional trips to the shop floor.
  • Physical Demands: Sitting/standing for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 20lbs. Extended periods of time using a computer screen. Extended periods of time using a keyboard. Moving and counting raw materials.
  • Travel Requirements: up to 10%
  • Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in
  • Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
  • Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
