JOB SUMMARY

Ensure the internal shell of molds is free of any particles that may cause a defect in the casting. Inspect molds for integrity, defects and damage. Repair any defect visible. Wrap and insulate molds to help improve the integrity of the casting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Remove shell and recover hardware from the mold.
  • Push mold on cart into boiler clave operation.
  • Load into firing oven keeping temperatures under 300 degrees.
  • Inspect Mold, including boroscope, looking for cracks and defects in internal and external structure.
  • Clean Mold using air pressure and water wash.
  • Repair Mold as necessary as instructed by Engineering.
  • Load Mold into preheat kilns/operation of preheat kilns by manipulator.
  • Load Mold into casting furnace per instructions.
  • Cut shape of baffle using CNC routing table.
  • Change baffle as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance on above equipment.
  • Enter data into software databases using Word, Excel, Oracle and written logs (quality records).
  • Clean area and equipment.
  • Perform 6S Responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: Manufacturing Experience Desired.
  • Certifications/Licenses: N/A
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Read. Write legibly.  Basic computer skills.  Forklift operation. Knowledge of equipment. Good verbal communication skills.  Good interpersonal skills.  Safety conscious.  Sense of urgency.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT
 
  • Working Environment: Shop Floor.
  • Required PPE: PPE varies throughout the plant, check to ensure proper PPE is being used.
  • Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
  • Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
