The Customer Program Manager works as a key member of the CPP-Minneapolis Executive staff who is the main point of contact for the selected customer(s). This position reports the General Manager and has a team of direct technical engineers who are responsible for part quality and part producibility.  There is also an account manager that reports to this position. This position interacts directly with the customers, other Customer Program Managers, the Quality Assurance team, the process Engineering team, the Operations team, and the corporate Sales team. This role requires the individual to maintain a high level of focus on technical improvement of parts and customer satisfaction.  This role also must facilitate cross functional teams to effectively solve customer issues/concerns.

What will you do?
  • Represent the organization as the prime technical lead and business contact for specified customers
  • Lead on ensuring the team strategies and processes are in place to meet teams’ objectives by supporting operational needs in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity.
  • Is point of contact to customers in delivery plans, quality issues, and improvement plans 
  • Lead team in developing solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity and ensures it fits with business strategy, mainly quality and yield improvement initiatives.
  • Lead the team to goal achievement by focusing on the key elements of importance to a business, finds solutions for business problems to benefit the wider business and developing value.
  • Expected to develop long range of positions on programs or technologies for management consideration
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the organization in a commercial context and understands how the company makes money and achieves its goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the various parts of a business and how they are interconnected, giving them the ability to make smart decisions in any situation.
  • Support in the complex problem decision making and presents back to Technical Lead.
  • Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals
  • Acts as the project leader and sponsor with consistent and meaningful influence
  • Demonstrated ability to determine program objectives/requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering/scientific activities
  • Represents the organization as the prime technical lead and business contact
  • Develops technical improvement plans to improve quality and yield of parts in portfolio.
  • Enforce contract terms with customers, as needed
  • Address Schedule changes whether from the customer or for internal reasons. Schedule customer delivery requirements– unless we are changing how we process incoming orders
  • Maintain the order entry system to ensure accurate shipping, invoicing, terms and schedule requirements, working within established production planning guidelines
  • Coordinate customer returns in a timely manner

What can you bring to the table?
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field required for this position. Candidates with equivalent experience will be considered for the role as well.
  • 5+ years of Engineering and manufacturing experience with aerospace or casting experience preferred
  • Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite with experience in Excel, Access, Word.  Experience with CAD (SolidWorks, Catia, etc.) is a plus.
