Positions Supervised: Custodial Staff both Parish/school and School and Maintenance Techs
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Facilities Manager at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish/school is responsible for maintaining the parish/school and school buildings and grounds. The Facilities Manager performs and supervises tasks related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, environmental, safety, custodial and event coordination. This position requires a team player attitude, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to details and project coordination. The Facilities Manager has a clear understanding of acceptable business practices in relationship to church teachings. The Facilities Manager has the ability to collaborate with and support the Pastor, Business Manager, School Principal, parish and school staff including teachers and students and volunteers. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  1. Manages and performs all work related to the maintenance of parish/school buildings including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, custodial and security of the parish/school.
 
  1. Maintains equipment on parish/school grounds by closely monitoring equipment and completing necessary testing as required. Also maintains accurate records of all maintenance repairs.  Performs repairs as needed.
 
  1. . Assigns work tasks to appropriate team member(s).
 
  1. Oversees and provides custodial needs of the parish/school.
 
  1. Oversees and provides event coordination. Ensures proper scheduling of set up and take down for meetings, events, worship, weddings, funerals, and otherwise as directed.
 
  1. Keeps buildings safe by making sure they meet building code requirements.
 
  1. Works with Business Manager and Pastor to report problems, solutions, and costs associated.  Provides a weekly status update on any pending project.
 
  1. Supervises all parish/school groundskeepers, maintenance and custodial employees.
 
  1. Promotes a positive team attitude with employees and volunteers.
 
  1. Develops, oversees and may assist teams of volunteers providing parish/school maintenance services such as cleaning, painting, and landscaping.
 
  1. Supervise contractors and vendors as they relate to maintenance.
 
  1. Develops and maintains a relationship with all contactors and vendors ensuring efficient facility operations.
  2. Implement procedures for handling, storing, safekeeping, and destruction of hazardous materials.  Maintain parish/school MSDS system.
 
  1. Works with Business Manager to manage annual facility budget.
 
  1. May assist in key distribution as requested by management.
 
  1. Creates and maintains parish/school wide inventory list and reviews list at least annually.
 
  1. Assists parish/school IT department when a change needs to be made to computer and network systems within the facilities.
 
  1. Regularly inspects parish/school properties for areas of concern.
 
  1. Ensures compliance and implementation of policies as they relate to parish/school facilities.
 
  1. Provides general carpentry on parish/school properties as needed.
 
  1. Oversees snow removal contractor as needed.
 
  1. Provides lawn maintenance and landscaping as needed.
 
  1. Attends staff meetings.
 
  1. Serves as primary contact for facility related emergencies, which may require evening and weekend work.
 
  1. Adheres to all Diocesan policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  1. Must have good interpersonal skills and familiarity with the Church as an organization.
  2. Must work effectively with and collaborate with the Pastor, parishioners, school and parish staff, musicians, and parish/school committees and councils. 
  3. Is self-motivated and willing to serve.
3.             Ability to execute projects systematically.
4.            Good craftsmanship.
5.            Proficient in computer applications using Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, etc.
6.            Good organizational and communication skills.
7.             High School Diploma with training in maintenance of buildings.
8.            Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.

Must have knowledge of the Catholic Faith and be a practicing/participating Catholic
in good standing with the church. Assume responsibility for your own continued
personal, spiritual and professional growth. Must have the ability to work
cooperatively, communicate effectively and possess communication skills to function
effectively in a diverse community environment.  Must have a GED or High School Diploma and a minimum 3-5 years’ experience working in the facilities management field and supervising others.
