Job Overview
The Campus Facilities Manager plays an essential role in maintaining the physical plant of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.  He/she is responsible for the general cleanliness and upkeep of all spaces on campus.  He/she should also maintain the general security of the campus.
 
The Campus Facilities Manager coordinates janitorial and maintenance efforts around campus.  He/she manages and supervises hired, contracted, and volunteer workers who assist in the clean-up and maintenance of St. Vincent’s.

The Campus Facilities manager is expected to display a professional, courteous, and helpful nature.  He/she must work with culturally diverse families and communities. The selected candidate must demonstrate a commitment to strengthening community engagement and communication with the parish’s diverse populations.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Proven experience as custodian, janitor, or similar role
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
  • Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
  • Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices
  • Ability to diagnose and solve mechanical issues
  • Attention to detail and conscientiousness
  • Good physical condition and strength; able to carry heavy objects and ascend stairs
  • High school diploma is preferred but not required
  • Speaks Spanish and English (Spanish preferred but not required)

Reporting
  • The Campus Facilities Manager reports to the pastor, office manager, and school principal.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Managerial
    • Oversee and manage all custodial employees, both hired and contracted
    • Project a positive and professional image at all times on campus
    • Ensure cleanliness of entire campus via delegation of tasks to custodial staff
      • Monitor performance of all maintenance/custodial staff
  • Custodial
    • Create, maintain, and update as needed a cleaning schedule for daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks
    • Undertake occasional custodial/janitorial tasks
      • including but not limited to: shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs
  • General Maintenance
    • Maintain and monitor campus HVAC systems and ensure outside firm does annual inspection/upkeep
    • Identify and schedule necessary repairs for whole campus
    • Perform maintenance and minor repairs at church, school, and rectory including but not limited to:
      • broken switches, changing lightbulbs, fixing door handles, minor leaks, furniture repair
    • Report major damages and oversee repairs
  • Safety and Security
    • Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows and setting up the alarm
    • Periodically inspects campus facilities and equipment to prevent possible injuries to visitors or damage to property
    • Secures school building to ensure proper building security
    • Assists in implementing emergency planning and response
    • Verifies that emergency equipment is maintained and repaired as need be
