English Classroom Teacher

A classroom teacher supports student learning, growth, and development through their assigned classes and duties and supports and strengthens the mission of Bishop Dwenger High School, to develop “Citizens of Two Worlds” who excel in the areas of spirituality, service, academics, and the active life upholding the Catholic Faith.

Responsibilities Include:

Developing a positive, joyful, welcoming, and supportive classroom environment. Contributing in a positive way to the school environment.
Planning and implementing effective and engaging curriculum, instruction, assessment, and classroom management for assigned classes, while following the state standards and diocesan curriculum.
Write and revise the course curriculum for those courses on your load.
Fulfilling other duties as assigned.
Professional conduct and adherence to all school and Diocesan policies and procedures.
Works cooperatively with colleagues.
Willing to become an active member in the high school environment.
Embrace the 1:1, blended learning style.

Requirements

Holds a current, valid Indiana Educator License in English or eligible to obtain a high school licensure in English;
Holds or would be willing to work towards a Masters in English, allowing for options to teach dual credit courses in the future;
Registered active Catholic is preferred, but not required.

Start Date: Contracted for the 2024-2025 school year
