Job Description:
A St. Therese Pre-k teacher plays a vital role in the early childhood education of young learners within our Catholic school setting. This position involves fostering a nurturing and supportive learning environment where children can grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually in accordance with Catholic values and teachings.
Ideal candidate is responsible for:
  • Instruction and Assessment
    • Deliver effective instruction using a variety of teaching strategies and  methodologies to meet the diverse needs of young learners.
    • Assess students' progress and development through observation, informal assessments, and formal evaluations.
    • Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate progress to parents/guardians regularly.
  • Spiritual Development:
    • Integrate Catholic faith formation into daily lessons and activities, fostering the spiritual growth and development of students.
    • Lead prayers, devotions, and religious celebrations to cultivate a sense of reverence and connection to God within the classroom community.
    • Model Catholic values and virtues through interactions with students and colleagues.
  • Classroom Management:
    • Establish and maintain a positive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and safe.
    • Implement consistent and age-appropriate behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior.
    • Encourage collaboration, cooperation, and teamwork among students while promoting independence and self-regulation skills.
  • Parent and Community Engagement:
    • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians through newsletters, emails, conferences, and other means to provide updates on student progress, classroom activities, and school events.
    • Collaborate with parents/guardians as partners in their child's education, seeking their input and involvement in classroom activities and school initiatives.
  • Professional Growth and Collaboration:
    • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices, deepen subject knowledge, and stay current with educational trends and best practices.
    • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to plan and coordinate curriculum, assessments, and school-wide initiatives.
    • Contribute to a positive and collaborative school culture by actively participating in team meetings, professional learning communities, and school improvement efforts.
