Our Lady of Hungary school is seeking a Jr. High (6th-8th Grade) Math teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Candidates must be able to fulfill all teaching description requirements of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend and demonstrate a marked commitment to teaching faith, knowledge, language, and culture with adeptness, sensitivity, and passion.
Position Summary:
The Junior High Math Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing instruction in mathematics for grades 6-8. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who is passionate about fostering a love of learning in students.Established in 1927, Our Lady of Hungary School has consistently maintained high academic standards, grounded in the teachings of the Catholic faith. The school was founded by the Daughters of Divine Charity, a religious order of Sisters, who were invited to staff Our Lady of Hungary School upon its founding. They arrived nearly 100 years ago amid the ringing of the church bells and much jubilation by the parishioners and soon to be students. Today there are ten lay teachers and a lay principal staffing the school continuing the same mission to provide an authentic Catholic education in a caring environment.
Job Responsibilities:

Instruction:
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards and Catholic values.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
Differentiate instruction to accommodate students of varying abilities.
Create a positive and supportive learning environment. -
Assessment:
Administer and analyze assessments to monitor student progress.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
Utilize assessment data to inform instruction and identify areas for improvement. -
Collaboration:
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional practices.
Work with parents to support student learning and address student needs.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills. -
Homeroom Responsibilities:
Serve as a homeroom teacher, overseeing student attendance, behavior, and social-emotional development.
Build strong relationships with students and families. -
Advanced Courses and Intervention:
Teach math courses and provide support to students who need additional assistance.
Develop and implement effective intervention strategies. -
Qualifications:
Licensed Math teacher or willingness to work toward a teaching license
Strong understanding of middle school mathematics curriculum and pedagogy.
Excellent classroom management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
Commitment to Catholic education and mission.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Physical Requirements:

Stand for 30 minutes at a time.

Operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment.

Must occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds.
