The Position
We have an excellent opportunity for a Supplier Quality Manager to join our team in our Lawrenceville, Georgia location. The Supplier Quality Manager will be responsible for developing new and existing suppliers and providing directions to suppliers needed to achieve and maintain registration and compliance with ISO 9001/AS9100 or QMS. The Supplier Quality Manager will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of suppliers while identifying potential issues to improve quality and efficiency, determine preventive and corrective actions, and collaborate with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures.

Key Requirements:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to improve our supplier quality, delivery, and costs.
  • Ensures that QMS (Quality Management System) procedures in the sourcing department are maintained and up to date.
  • Drive quality accountability with top critical suppliers and launch continuous improvement projects with suppliers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all supplier quality issues.
  • Develop and maintain a training plan to provide quality inspectors with adequate information concerning quality criteria for specific products.
  • Deliver results as measured by key metrics, such as cost of failure, supplier recovery, defect rate, supplier quality plan engagement/effectiveness and corrective and preventative action closure.
  • Conduct audits at supplier sites to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Own and improve the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Product Part Approval Processes (PPAP) internally and at the supplier.
  • Drive systematic implementation & management of all SQ systems across wind commodities.
  • Validate Suppliers First Article Inspection per AS9102 and perform customers FAI per AS9102.
  • Ensure suppliers meet the company’s flow downs and requirements.
  • Validate suppliers’ acceptance criteria, golden samples, quality control plans and others.
  • Participate on the internal Audit and CAPA team.
  • Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes, products, and production equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Previous audits experience necessary.
  • Initiative-taker capable of leading suppliers.
  • Solid understanding on quality tools such as statistical process control, Six Sigma, Lean, process improvements, yield improvements, root cause analysis, FAI (first article inspection), CpK (statistical process capability).
  • Wide industry knowledge an advantage
  • Knowledge of PCB and electronic components.
  • Knowledge of special processes like plating, powder coating, conformal coating.
  • Flexible and trustworthy.

Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to work under pressure in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, mostly within the USA.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and people skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to successfully interact within quality, engineering, design and manufacturing communities and the supply chain.
  • Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Access experience

Preferred Education/Certifications/Methods:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electronic, industrial engineering, or other related areas, required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field as a Supplier Quality Engineer or Quality Manager.
  • Previous experience on Military specification and AS9102 first article inspections
  • Familiar with IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600, and J-STD-001
  • Certified ISO 9001 auditor and knowledge of AS9100 standards.
  • Knowledge GD&T Inspection methods and equipment.
  • Knowledge of APQP and associated tools.
