We have an excellent opportunity for an accomplished RMA Technician to join our team in Fremont, California. Our ideal candidate will perform electro-mechanical repair/or upgrade on Eurocard based systems platforms as well as conduct functional tests.  The systems could range from simple standard to highly complex. This includes evaluation of all RMA chassis to determine cause of failure, as well as identify specific parts (mechanical and electrical components) required to be replaced and finally bring the chassis into good working condition. 

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and determine the root cause of failure for RMA chassis
  • Estimate the labor and materials required for the scope of repair or upgrade of RMA chassis
  • Identify electro-mechanical components, install them and test the chassis for functionality
  • Perform mechanical repair, troubleshoot wiring and test RMA units
  • Communicate effectively, recommend and generate DDR changes on document where applicable to actual wiring and mechanical build of chassis
  • Perform self-inspection according to Manufacturing Checklist
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements: 
  • Normally receives very minimal instructions in performing electro-mechanical repair/or upgrading standard to semi-complex RMA chassis, but may require technical guidance from engineering for RMA chassis with high complexity in nature
  • Able to work on assignments ranging from standard to high complexity in nature
  • Requires judgment in solving problems and ability to suggest changes and make recommendations for improvements
  • Must be able to provide verbal or written comprehensive report of evaluated/analyzed RMA chassis
  • Performs mechanical assembly and electrical wiring independently with no supervision required
  • Familiar with the use of various electronic components (i.e. multi meter, crimping tools, soldering iron, etc.) and mechanical hand tool (i.e. power screw/nut driver, hand drill, caliper, etc.)
  • Good math skills
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Able to read and/or work from both mechanical and wiring diagrams and written instructions
  • Able to trouble shoot problems in electrical circuitry and some basic exposure to electronic circuits
  • Must be able to understand and configure electro-mechanical component requirements through AWO instructions and B.O.M.
  • Conversant with use of basic formulas to calculate electrical circuit parameters
  • Must be able to lift/carry a minimum weight of 50 pounds
  • Good manual dexterity required
  • Ability to read and interpret CPCI and VME specs is an added advantage

Preferred Education/Certifications:
  • AA/Technical Certification, Diploma in Electronics or equivalent
  • 1-3 years experience in related field is a plus

Target Compensation: $27.00 to $36.00 a hour, dependent upon experience
