We have an excellent opportunity for a Data Analyst to join our team in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining dashboards, metrics, and reports for Elma’s KPIs. You will create daily weekly, and monthly metrics and reports that drive action with a focus on continuous improvement. You will work cross-functionally to ensure that metrics and reports are simple, easy to understand, and accurately measure attributes to drive positive change. You will conduct in-depth data analysis and interpret it to determine focus areas for improvement. You will also create metrics or reports to track performance on key projects (Measures of Effectiveness). This role reports to the VP of Operations and is accountable to the Operations leadership team, including site, supply chain, warehousing, logistics, planning, scheduling, and quality leaders. Additionally, you will support key projects and events.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Focus is on collection and analysis of data; turning data into meaningful information our company can use to improve and grow.
  • Use statistical and analytical techniques to find trends, interpret the data and study patterns that help influence business decisions and recommend changes in company operations.
  • Perform analysis that helps the company improve efficiency, understand customer requirements, and increase profits.
  • Work with all Operational functions to identify leading and lagging indicators of operational performance in manufacturing, fabrication, supply chain, warehousing, planning, and scheduling.
  • Develop and publish meaningful metrics and reports that will drive action towards business goals and objectives.
  • Produce and track key performance indicators.
  • Analyze data to determine key focus areas for driving continuous improvement; opportunity to lead or support key projects.
  • Developing and implementing data collection systems, databases, and other strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Streamlining data collection processes for automating different business processes
  • Solving data related problems and coding issues
  • Collecting data, processing it using advance tools and summarizing it to tell a story.
  • Training end users on how to utilize the dashboards, metrics and reports effectively.
  • Facilitating strategic decision making within the business
  • Leads Lean projects, as required by the business (such as 5S, productive maintenance, visual controls, machine set-up projects)

 

Qualities:

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft programs including excel, D365 and PowerBI is a must.
  • Experience with data analysis using Python, excel, sequel, tableau and other tools is required.
  • The ability to prepare business cases with a strong analytical and structured approach is a plus.
  • A thorough understanding of production business drivers, such as productivity, utilization, OEE, costing, etc. is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with operators and business leaders at all levels.
  • Flexible and adaptable to business change requirements
  • Some knowledge of Lean methodologies (5S, VSM, Flow, Takt time, line balancing amongst others) is a plus.
  • Project management skills and training are a plus.

 

Preferred Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in computer science, engineering, applied mathematics or statistics with 3+ years’ work experience as a data analyst.
  • Knowledge of excel, PowerBI, D365, python, sequel, tableau, and other data analysis tools.
  • Certifications such as Certified Analytics Professional, Microsoft PowerBI Data Analyst Associate, SAS Statistical Business Analyst, CompTIA Data+ or Cloudera Data Analyst are a plus.
